Of high heels and water jets, Rina gets roasted again on social media

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun has managed to once again find herself in the limelight in Malaysia's cyberspace.

The name 'Rina' was under the top 10 trending topics on Twitter on Sunday (Dec 26), and this time it was due to a video of the Women, Family and Community Development Minister using a water jet while being surrounded by what seems to be photographers and government officials.

Twitter users have been posting the same video, which showed Rina using the water jet to supposedly clean a drain and one of the corridors of Sekolah Kebangsaan Salak at Salak Tinggi.

Users are questioning why she is trying to clean a seemingly clean floor and drain when there is no mud to be seen around the area.

@dylawok who posted the video which has garnered 18.3K Retweets, 10.5K Quote Tweets and 12.1K Likes, asked why she is cleaning a PPS when she should be cleaning flood victim homes.

"You see, there's not even a smudge of mud there," she said.

Another user, @KeshSinghR1 asked; "What are you doing? Promoting the water jet brand? Washing imaginary mud on the floors?"

On the other hand, @KamiSIUMAN tweeted to Rina, saying that her time is more valuable as a policymaker and an MP, adding that "JKM already has enough boots on the ground, we will understand".

On her official Facebook page, Rina earlier posted that she was at the school to join a post-flood operation to clean up the school, which was used as a flood-relief centre (PPS).

"Alhamdulillah, all families have returned to their respective homes after the flood recedes," she said.

Rina was previously trending on Twitter after receiving brickbats from Malaysian for wearing high heels when she visited the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SKJT) Saraswathy PPS at Jalan Kelang Lama.

She said the shoes worn by her during the visit should not have been made into an issue, explaining that she earlier attended an event at MITEC in Kuala Lumpur and immediately left after Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had delivered his speech.

User @Hussamuddin said she pity Rina who often finds herself under bad publicity, which is often followed by nasty memes by Internet, trolls.
