SEREMBAN: Some 3,000 families affected by Saturday’s (Dec 18) floods in Negri Sembilan will receive an RM1,000 aid each from the state government.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said his administration has set aside RM3mil for the exercise.

Another RM1mil will be set aside to repair damaged infrastructure.

"The aid to the families will be paid once we receive the names of victims from the respective land and district offices.

"We will also help rebuild homes of victims which were badly damaged," he told reporters at his official residence.

On Sunday (Dec 19), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said each family affected by the floods in seven states will receive RM1,000 in cash aid.

The Prime Minister also said that the government had approved an initial allocation of RM100mil to repair houses and infrastructure damaged by the floods nationwide.

He said the government was aware of the extent of damage caused by the massive floods that hit several states.
