Covid-19 Watch: 97.5% of Malaysia's adult population fully vaccinated

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 22,813,571 individuals, or 97.5%, of the adult population in Malaysia completed their Covid-19 vaccinations as of Sunday (Dec 19), says the Health Ministry.

Based on statistics from the Ministry's CovidNow portal, a total of 23,119,998 individuals, or 98.8%, of Malaysia’s adult population have received at least one dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine.

As for the adolescent population, comprising those aged between 12 and 17 years old, 86.9%, or 2,734,970 individuals, have completed their vaccinations, while 2,833,424 individuals, or 90%, have received at least one dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine.

A total of 78,205 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Sunday, with 1,325 as first doses, 1,971 as second doses, and 74,909 booster shots.

This brings the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 55,882,568, including 4,575,798 booster doses, as of Sunday. - Bernama
