Sarawak Polls: Unofficial - PSB’s Wong retains Bawang Assan


SIBU: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh has retained the Bawang Assan seat.

According to unofficial results, the former rep, 79, the oldest among the 349 candidates in the Sarawak election, won by a majority of 913 votes. He polled a total of 5,953 votes.

Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate, Senator Robert Lau Hui Yew, garnered 5,039 votes while Michelle Ling Shyan Mih of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) received 954 votes.

This is followed by Amy Lau Bik Yieng of DAP (1,173) and Independent candidate Ricky Entrie (643).

Wong was the former Second Finance Minister and sixth-term assemblyman of Bawang Assan.

The seat has a total of 19,650 voters.
