Sarawak Polls: GPS takes Bukit Goram, Balingian and Tellian


KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has won in Bukit Goram.

Its candidate Jefferson Jamit Unyat won with a majority of 3,538 votes for the seat.

He polled 4,253 against four other contenders, with DAP’s Joseph Jinggut polling the next best at 715 votes.

GPS has also won the Balingian seat with Abdul Yakub Arbi garnering a majority of 2,904 votes.

The seat saw a three-cornered fight against Parti Sarawak Bersatu and PKR.

GPS candidate Royston Valentine also won in Tellian.

Royston won with a handsome majority of 2,917 votes against PSB’s Sait Junaidi, PKR’s Arwin Lim Abdullah and Part Bumi Kenyalang’s Zainuddin Budug.
