Former Perak speaker passes away on Wednesday (Dec 15)


IPOH: Former Perak speaker Tan Sri Ahmad Azizuddin Zainal Abidin (pic) passed away on Wednesday (Dec 15).

Perak Speaker Datuk Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid made the announcement shortly during the state assembly sitting.

"I was informed about Ahmad Azizuddin passing away this morning. Those who are Muslim can please recite Al-Fatihah for him, an for the rest to take a silent moment of respect for him," he said.

Ahmad Azizuddin, 93, was the Perak Speaker from 1978 to 1982 and the Belanja assemblyman from 1982 to 1986.
