Covid-19: More than 97% of adult population fully vaccinated as of Thursday (Dec 9)

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 22,752,434 individuals or 97.2% per cent of the adult population in Malaysia have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations as of Thursday (Dec 9).

The Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal also reported that 98.6% of the adult population, or 23,071,502 individuals, had received at least one dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, 90.1% of the adolescent population, or 2,838,110 individuals aged between 12 and 17, have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, while 86.8%, or 2,732,740 individuals, have completed the vaccination process.

A total of 140,831 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Thursday, with 7,332 as second doses, 4,708 as a first dose, and 128,791 as booster jabs.

As of Thursday, a total of 54,615,414 Covid-19 vaccine doses, including 3,412,576 booster doses, had been administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme so far. - Bernama
