Man in Kota Tinggi nabbed for splashing red paint at houses

KOTA TINGGI: Police have arrested a 31-year-old man after a house in Taman Kota Jaya here had been splashed with red paint in the wee hours of Wednesday morning (Dec 8).

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said the house owner lodged a report at around 1am saying that his house and car had been splashed with paint.

“The red paint is a warning to the house owner for failing to pay a debt he made through Facebook in early 2019.

“Based on the information, police arrested a suspect at around 12.30pm at his own house in Bandar Desa Cemerlang near Johor Baru,” he said on Thursday (Dec 9).

He added that police also seized two cars, three ATM cards, a mobile phone, a can of paint and tools used in splashing paints.

The case is being investigated under Section 5 (2) of the Money Lending Act 1951 and Section 427 of the Penal Code.

Supt Hussin advised the public not to be influenced by loan offers from unlicensed money lenders.
