Covid-19: 55 new cases bring total to 251,411 in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak reported 55 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Dec 8), the lowest in months, bringing the state's cumulative tally to 251,411.

In a statement, the state disaster management committee said two of the new cases were in Category 5 (symptomatic and requiring ventilator).

It said 19 cases were asymptomatic, while 34 had mild symptoms.

Only Kuching district reported double-digit cases with 19, while 15 districts reported between one and five cases each.

The committee said one new death was reported on Dec 4, involving an 87-year-old man with hypertension and heart disease who died at Limbang Hospital.

It also said seven compounds were issued by the police in Kuching for failure to scan the MySejahtera QR code or registering details before entering premises.
