Covid-19: 499 cases in ICU, 269 require ventilators, says Health DG

PETALING JAYA: A total of 499 Covid-19 cases were treated at intensive care units on Friday (Dec 3), says the Health Ministry.

Its director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 269 cases also required ventilator support.

"A total of 5,551 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Friday (Dec 3), bringing the cumulative cases to 2,649,578.

"There were also 5,301 recoveries, bringing the total number to 2,556,554," he said in a statement.

He said of the positive cases, 78 cases were category three, four and five while 5,473 were category one and two.

"Six new clusters were recorded, bringing the number of active clusters to 228," he added.
