Civil servant detained for allegedly shooting man at a bar

SERDANG: A 56-year-old civil servant was detained for allegedly shooting another man at a bar in Bandar Puchong Jaya.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan said the victim suffered wounds to his back and left arm.

"The incident occured at a bar at about 8.45pm Monday (Nov 15).

"The suspect had allegedly fired a shot from a pistol and it hit the victim, who was a customer of the premises.

"The victim was sent to Serdang Hospital for treatment, and he is in stable condition," he said when contacted on Tuesday (Nov 16).

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect is a civil servant who had permission to carry a firearm, he said.

"We also seized the pistol used in the incident.

"We are still investigating the incident. The suspect did not know the victim, and there was no provocation prior to the incident," he said.
