QuickCheck: Was a viral snatch theft video filmed in Puchong?


EARLIER this week, a video went viral of a snatch thief causing a person to fall to the ground when their bag was pulled from their hands by the motorcycle-riding assailant.

Did this really happen in Puchong as claimed online?

Yes, this was confirmed by Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan in a statement released on the official police Facebook page along with the nine-second clip.

"The incident happened at Jalan Puteri 2/7 in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. The video shows a motorcyclist approaching a pedestrian before snatching their bag, causing them to fall," said ACP Anbalagan.

He added that the motorcyclist fled the scene, while the victim was aided by passers-by.

"The police call on the victim to come forward to lodge a report," said ACP Anbalagan.
