PETALING JAYA: MCA has unveiled seven candidates for the upcoming Melaka state election.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) said all 28 Barisan Nasional candidates will contest under the coalition's logo, including seven seats that will be contested by MCA candidates.

“I hope that everything goes well and good luck to all Barisan Nasional candidates!” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Nov 6).

With the theme "Prosperity for stability", the seven MCA candidates contesting in the upcoming state polls are:

N8 Machap Jaya - Ngwe Hee Sem

N14 Klebang - Datuk Lim Ban Hong

N16 Ayer Keroh - Yong Fun Juan

N19 Kesidang - Leong Hui Ying

N20 Kota Laksamana - Benjamin Low Chin Hong

N22 Bandar Hilir - Lee Kah Sean

N24 Bemban - Datuk Koh Chin Han

Earlier, Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan made the announcement and said that Barisan will be going solo and will be fielding candidates in all 28 state seats.

Melaka voters will choose a new state government on Nov 20.

The election is being held following the dissolution of the state assembly after four assemblymen withdrew their support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.

A total of 28 state seats will be contested, with early voting on Nov 16.
