Sarawak Deputy CM James Masing passes away


SIBU: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Masing passed away at Normah Sarawak Medical Centre (NSMC), Petra Jaya, Kuching at 7.05am on Sunday (Oct 31) morning.

He was 72.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Abdullah Saidol confirmed his death.

Masing, who was also Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president, was admitted to hospital on Sept 28 for Covid-19.

The state Infrastructure and Ports Development minister had received two doses of the vaccine.

On Sept 28, Masing posted on Facebook that he had Covid-19 and was experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of appetite and water in his lungs but was coping well.
