Pedestrian, motorcyclist killed in Penang car accident

GEORGE TOWN: A motorcyclist and pedestrian died while two others suffered serious injuries after a road accident here at Medan Rajawali in Bayan Lepas on Saturday (Oct 30).

The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man and the pedestrian, a 45-year-old woman, died at the scene while a car driver and another pedestrian sustained serious injuries.

Bayan Baru Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Helmirizal Che Morad said the department received a call about the incident at 11.26pm.

"The accident involved a car driver, a motorcyclist and two pedestrians. Personnel from the department arrived at the scene to find that passers-by had already removed the driver from his car,” said Helmirizal.

"The driver and the pedestrian who sustained serious injuries were sent to Penang Hospital. The motorcyclist and the other pedestrian were declared dead at the scene by paramedics,” he added.
