PETALING JAYA: All students in exam classes that have achieved a 90% or more complete vaccination rate will be returning to school on Nov 8.

This involves students in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, Sijil Vokasional Malaysia, Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia classes, as well as international examination classes such as IGCSE O-Level, A-Level, Australia Higher School Certificate and IBD classes.

In a statement on Friday (Oct 29), the Education Ministry said they would not be following the weekly rotation schedule that was announced earlier.

It said this decision came after discussions with the Health Ministry and the National Security Council, taking into account the rate of vaccination among students in examination classes.

It added that educational institutions under the ministry that had not achieved at least 90% full vaccination rate will continue with the weekly rotation model, where half of the students will be present in school while the other half would do home-based teaching and learning.

The ministry also said it will continue to monitor the vaccination rates and release the updated list of educational institutions that had not achieved the 90% vaccination rate every Wednesday.

"Any educational institution that has achieved a complete vaccination rate of 90% or more will be removed from the list, and the institution can start operating without rotation on Sunday or Monday of the following week," it said.

"The ministry recommends that this ruling also apply to all educational institutions that are not registered with the ministry, including educational institutions under state governments," it added.

The list of educational institutions that have yet to achieve the 90% vaccination rate can be found at:
