Budget 2022: RM200mil for Chinese, RM145mil for Indian communities


PETALING JAYA: A total of RM200mil has been allocated for the Chinese community, among them for the purpose of upgrading Chinese new villages, as well as financing schemes for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

While tabling the Budget 2022 in parliament on Friday (Oct 29), Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said that besides the Chinese community, RM145mil is set aside for the Indian community, among them for the implementation of programmes to strengthen the community's social economy through Tekun Nasional - the national Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund, under the Indian Entrepreneurs Development Scheme.

Tengku Zafrul was tabling the 2022 Budget in Dewan Rakyat on Friday (Oct 29).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier had said the Budget was drawn up to benefit all quarters in line with the Malaysian Family concept which assures that no one will be left out in the country’s recovery agenda after experiencing difficulties brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.
