KUALA LUMPUR: An average of 10 compound notices are issued daily for standard operating procedure (SOP) violations here.

City police chief Comm Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim said during weekdays, only about 10 compound notices were issued here which showed that the people were generally compliant.

"We have noticed however that the number of compound notices does increase during the weekends when more people are out and about.

"We will continue to monitor the situation and our compliance teams will conduct checks daily to ensure everyone follows the SOP set under the National Recovery Plan (NRP)," he told reporters on Tuesday (Oct 26).

When asked, Comm Azmi said there were isolated cases where certain individuals were caught violating the SOP but overall, the number of compound notices issued showed that everything was under control.

"I am happy to say that we are satisfied with the compliance rate in the city.

"Yes, there are certain cases were people forget to follow the SOP, but swift action is taken by our personnel," he said.

Those with information on such cases should contact the City police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or the nearest police station.
