Cops arrest 14 drunk drivers, five motorcyclists in traffic op in KL


KUALA LUMPUR: Police here have nabbed 14 drivers for drink-driving on Saturday (Oct 24) after being stopped at various roadblocks set up in the course of operations here.

“During the operations, 14 drivers aged between 20 and 50, were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol,” said city Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh.

He added in a statement on Sunday (Oct 24) that four motorcyclists aged between 17 and 21 were arrested after being caught performing dangerous stunts on the road.

“On Jalan Ipoh we also caught a 24-year-old motorcyclist for falsifying number plates. Throughout the operations that began Oct 22 around 220 summonses were issued, and 15 motorcycles confiscated for illegal modifications,” he said
