Shafie: Warisan ready to offer Muda platform to contest GE15, on track to spread wings to peninsula

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah is prepared to offer its party as a vehicle to the yet- to-be-registered Muda to contest in GE15.

Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said that he had made the offer to Muda which is headed by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman.

"Yes, we are ready to provide our party as the platform.

"They have not come back to us as yet, we will let them decide," he said during an online talk with veteran newsmen and senior editors which was organised by the Concorde Club.

The Concorde Club is a monthly discussion on hot topics initiated by veteran journalists, Star Media Group advisor Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, and former Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Azman Ujang.

Shafie said that Warisan and Muda have been working together as an opposition force and have taken similar stands on various issues.

Shafie also said Warisan was still on track to spread its wing to Peninsular Malaysia.

The former Sabah chief minister said that the party was scheduled to formally launch the party in peninsular Malaysia by this year.

He said that Warisan would be promoting a multi-racial platform towards building a nation less focused on race and religion.

Shafie said that there was a need for the country to move away from race and religious politics and for Malaysians to focus their energies on building a nation inclusive of all.
