JKJAV: 128,347 Covid-19 vaccine doses administered on Saturday (Oct 16)

PETALING JAYA: A total of 128,347 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday (Oct 16), bringing the total number to 46,761,751, according to the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV).

The committee in a series of tweets said that 109,745 people completed their vaccine doses on Saturday while the remaining 15,421 received their first dose of the vaccine.

Selangor leads the most number of first-dose shots with 5,179 followed by Johor (3,261), Sabah (1,538) and Penang (1,198).

Meanwhile, with 18,254 doses, Sarawak had the most second-doses of the vaccine administered on Saturday followed by Johor (16,231), Sabah (13,200) and Perak (11,451).

JKJAV added that as of Saturday, 91.5% or 21,430,294 adults had been fully inoculated while 95.1% had received their first vaccine shots.

According to the CovidNow website, as of Saturday, 67.8% of the total Malaysian population had been fully vaccinated and 75.7% were partially inoculated.

It added that the country is projected to achieve 80% of its total population fully vaccinated by Dec 17 this year.
