Covid-19: Over half a million adolescents received at least one vaccine dose, says Khairy

PETALING JAYA: More than half a million adolescents aged between 12 and 17 have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of Wednesday (Sept 22), says Khairy Jamaluddin (pic).

"Sabah leads the group with 56% of adolescents registered in schools receiving at least their first dose," said the Health Minister in a Twitter post on Thursday (Sept 23).

The vaccination programme for teens is expected to involve 3.2 million adolescents aged 12 to 17, and it started in Sarawak on Sept 8 and in Labuan on Sept 11.

The government is targeting at least 60% of teenagers to receive at least one vaccination dose by November, with the aim of having 80% of teenagers fully vaccinated by next January.
