103 residents evacuated from their homes after Kemensah landslide

AMPANG: A total of 103 residents have been evacuated due to the landslide at Jalan Kemensah Heights.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the residents were evacuated from their homes on Friday night (Sept 17).

"The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council personnel will cover the landslide area with a canvas first before any work can be done.

"The Geoscience and Mineral Department is also conducting checks and studies to uncover the cause of the landslide," he told reporters on Saturday (Sept 18).

He said the police would be deployed in the area to ensure the safety of all, including those living in the surrounding areas.

"Certain nearby roads will be diverted as only authorised personnel are allowed in the area.

"We hope the public can give their full cooperation in this matter and abide by instructions of the police," he said.
