Thirteen nabbed in connection with Kepong goldsmith robbery


KUALA LUMPUR: In a series of raids, police have detained 13 individuals in connection with a goldsmith heist in Kepong.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said 10 men and three women were detained in multiple raids in Wangsa Maju on Saturday (Sept 4) and Sunday (Sept 5).

"Those detained are aged from 24 to 34. Twelve have past criminal records and 11 tested positive for methamphetamine," he said on Tuesday (Sept 8).

He added that the suspects have been remanded until Friday (Sept 10).

Four individuals robbed a goldsmith at Jalan Metro Perdana, Kepong on Aug 22.

The suspects, wearing helmets or masks, broke glass cases displaying jewellery before escaping with the loot.
