King consents to presentation of PM's Cabinet list, says Istana Negara

PETALING JAYA: The King has consented to the presentation of the list of new Cabinet members by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, says Istana Negara.

In a statement, Istana Negara said Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had granted an audience to the Prime Minister at Istana Abdulaziz in Kuantan, Pahang.

"During the royal audience which lasted about an hour and 30 minutes, the King had accepted the presentation of the new Cabinet list from the Prime Minister, following his swearing-in as the ninth Prime Minister on Sunday (Aug 21)," the statement read.

After the audience, His Majesty and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah also consented to a luncheon with the Prime Minister.

Ismail Sabri was supposed to present the list to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for approval on Wednesday (Aug 25), but it was understood the audience was postponed as His Majesty is in Kuantan.
