Jovian Mandagie's Instagram flooded with congratulatory messages over father-in-law’s appointment as new PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Fashion designer Datuk Jovian Mandagie found himself in the spotlight on social media with the appointment of his father-in-law, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, as the new Prime Minister.

Jovian is married to Ismail Sabri’s daughter, Datin Nina Ismail Sabri. While many of his followers sent messages of congratulations, there were others who jovially teased him.

This was in expectation of him designing outfits for the new ninth Prime Minister.

“Datuk (Jovian), don’t forget to dress up our prime minister handsomely,” said one Instagram user, @dyla_tecik.

Another user, @rielkies_klang86, commented: “Can’t wait to see the clothes of the prime minister after this. Must surely be ‘wow’.”

Some others were even asking him if his Jovian Mandagie fashion label will be running a promotion or any sale to commemorate the occasion of his father-in-law being appointed Malaysia’s Prime Minister.

Jovian, 35, is known as a veteran fashion designer in Malaysia. He has produced stunning couture creations that combine both modernity and classic chic.

His fashion label is well loved among the high society in Malaysia, as well. The runway shows he puts on? Glamorously over-the-top.

When Jovian first launched his ready-to-wear line in 2012, a total of 25,000 pieces were reportedly produced. It has become an even bigger hit among his loyal customers since.
