Three killed in Penang car crash


GEORGE TOWN: Three people were burnt to death in an early-morning car crash on Monday (Aug 16) after their car crashed into a tree along Jalan Masjid Negeri here.

Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Sha'ari Mansor said that the Department received a call about the incident at 2.55am.

Sha'ari added that the victims died at the scene and were confirmed dead by ambulance personnel present.

"Firemen arrived to find the car on fire after it crashed into the tree and the three victims were trapped in the vehicle. The victims were removed using rescue tools and the fire was successfully put out by 3.05am,” he said.
