PLUS integrated PPV records over 16,000 vaccine recipients since opening

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS), the first highway headquarters to be activated as an integrated public vaccination centre (PPV), recorded over 16,000 vaccine recipients, both Malaysians and foreigners, in less than two weeks since it began operating on July 26.

In a statement the company said the PPV was made possible with its partnership with medical advisory partner Primer Cherang, together with ProtechHealth which is the implementer of private medical practitioner in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

Its managing director Datuk Azman Ismail said by offering PLUS’ headquarters as a PPV, it is hoped that more people would be fully vaccinated to protect them from Covid-19.

"Hopefully with this move, the retail sectors will be able to resume so that small businesses can be revived and "InshaAllah (God willing), our country can work towards economic and social recovery,” he said.

According to the statement PICK Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin made a working visit to the PPV yesterday and was pleased with the PPV’s progress and efficiency.

Earlier, PLUS informed that the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) had selected Persada PLUS headquarters as one of 14 public immunisation venues to accelerate the dispensing of vaccines through operation surge capacity in an effort to ensure all adults will receive at least one dose of vaccine by Aug 1. - Bernama
