SOP violations: 49 factories, business premises and construction sites ordered to close

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 49 factories, business premises and construction sites were ordered to close for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) on Saturday (July 24).

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the compliance operation task force conducted 82,249 inspections and snap checks on Saturday.

"It includes inspections at 1,300 factories, 14,025 business premises, 360 construction sites and 173 workers' hostels.

"The government has stepped up total enforcement in terms of checking factories and business premises as there are too many infringements of the SOP," he said in a statement on Sunday (July 25).
