SIBU: Sarawak recorded a drop in daily Covid-19 numbers on Sunday (July 11) with 270 new cases reported, down from 352 the previous day.
One death was reported, a 71-year old man who passed away at Bintulu Hospital. The patient tested positive on June 21.
The state disaster management committee said in a statement that Kuching accounted for the most cases with 76, followed by Meradong (36) and Mukah (22).
Of the 270 cases, the committee said two were patients at the drug rehabilitation centre in Kuching while four others were imported cases involving Indonesians.
It added that 33 of the cases were symptomatic and 237 asymptomatic.
Cumulatively, the number of cases recorded in the state stands at 68,809.
Sarawak also recorded 526 recoveries on Sunday, which increased the total number to 58,391 or 85.57% of positive cases so far.
"A total of 9,349 cases are still being isolated and treated at hospitals as well as quarantine and low-risk treatment centres throughout the state," it said.
