KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak is not a bankrupt despite a court ruling that dismissed his application for a stay on a summary judgment where he is ordered to pay RM1.69bil in tax arrears owed to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

Lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla said there was a public misconception that the former prime minister was a bankrupt from the bankruptcy notice that was issued to him on Feb 4.
