KOTA KINABALU: Upko president Datuk Seri Madius Tangau proposes for the Emergency to be lifted, and rejects the establishment of the National Operations Council (Mageran).
He highlighted these views during an online audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Monday (June 14).
He said he had told the King that Upko was not confident that Mageran would help stabilise the political situation in the country.
He said political stability could be created through Confidence-and-Supply Agreement (CSA) with the Opposition parties and guarantees that comprehensive policy-making will be implemented through Parliament.
On other matters, the Tuaran MP said Upko wants Parliament and all state legislative assemblies to reconvene as suspended legislatures had resulted in limited political policy in decision-making.
On other matters, Madius proposed for vaccinations to be accelerated and done inclusively, for assistance to the people to be streamlined and expedited, as well as expediting the provision of laptops to rural students for online studies.
He also urged for better coordination of the implementation of government policies, which he said has been confusing at times.
