EMCO for several localities in Kedah and Pahang from May 18-31

PETALING JAYA: Several localities in Jitra, Kedah and Raub, Pahang will be placed under enhanced movement control order (MCO) from Tuesday (May 18).

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Taman Mahsuri 2A, Taman Mahsuri 2B, Taman Mahsuri 2C, Pusat Perniagaan Bandar Barat, Kampung Paya Kerchut, Taman Tunku Anum, Kampung Lubuk Kawah, Taman Desa Tanjung and Taman Desa Darul Aman Mukim Naga in Kedah would be placed under Enhanced MCO from May 18 to May 31.

"207 screenings were conducted there and 94 cases were detected.

"At Ulu Lepar, Mukim Gali, Raub, Pahang, eight positive cases were detected," he said in a statement on Sunday (May 16).

He said following a risk assessment from the MCO Technical Committee, the government agreed to place these areas under EMCO.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the EMCO at the Windmills Condominium, Genting View Resorts and Apartment Mawar, Genting Highlands, Bentong, Pahang would end Sunday ahead of schedule.

"The EMCO there was initially scheduled to end on May 23.

"237 screenings were conducted and seven cases were detected," he said adding that the Health Ministry confirmed a decrease in cases and that the cluster was under control.
