Covid-19: Malaysians receiving appointment notifications for voluntary AstraZeneca shots

PETALING JAYA: Some Malaysians have received appointment notifications to voluntary receive AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccines via the MySejahtera app, but others are still eagerly waiting for it.

Many shared screenshots of the appointments on social media after they successfully secured their slots for the vaccine on Sunday (May 2).

Twitter user HadzWadi said "I got mine sir, 10 minutes walking from my hostel! Thank you!," he said, tagging Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Another user Damian Zola said, "YB, this is a great success on your part. I just got my notif and couldn't have been happier. Thank you. I hope you build on this momentum and make sure our country attains herd immunity as soon as possible," he said.

Twitter user Yussalman said "True enough I woke up to my AZ appointments in MySejatera app today (May 3). Thank you YB," he said.

Others like Steve Soon are still waiting.

"I have been checking since early morning, very excited and hoping to get the appointment confirmation soon. It is like waiting for the SPM results," he quipped.

Meanwhile, Khairy tweeted that: "Some people should be waking up to their AZ appointments in their MySj (MySejahteera app). These are progressively being pushed out throughout today. Any issues please reach out to @JKJAVMY."

He also pointed that Malaysia is set to receive a million more doses this month via Covax.

"We will expand the opt-in in other states (except Sarawak which has declined) and ensure those without access to the Internet etc can also sign up," he added.
