PETALING JAYA: Universiti Malaya's Prof Dr April Camilla Roslani (pic) has become the first Malaysian to be conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) this year.
"The ASCRS Honorary Fellowship is designed to honour individuals who have made outstanding achievements and contributions to fields related to colon and rectal surgery," said the Faculty of Medicine Universiti Malaya.
It added in a Facebook post on Friday (April 30) that each year, ASCRS recognises up to six Honorary Fellows and also said that Dr April was also awarded the American College of Surgeons (ACS)’ Honorary Fellowship last year.
Dr April is the faculty's Dean of Medicine and Professor of Surgery.
The Faculty congratulated Dr April for her achievement and said that it believes that she will bring the field of colon and rectal surgery to greater heights both in Malaysia and globally.
