EMCO at SM Sains Banting from April 24-May 7

PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order will be placed at SM Sains Banting, in Kuala Langat, Selangor beginning Saturday (April 24), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Senior Minister (Security) said the decision comes following a spike in Covid-19 cases reported in the school.

To date, 473 screenings were carried out of which 71 students were confirmed to have been infected, he added.

“Health authorities also confirmed that infectivity within the locality is high. After evaluating the situation at the school and on the advice of the Health Ministry, the government has agreed to enforce the enhanced MCO at the school,” he said on Friday (April 23).

The lockdown will be until May 7.
