Sarawak gets its own coastguard

KUCHING: The newly-formed Sarawak Coastguard will work with other maritime agencies to protect the state’s coastal waters and gazetted marine parks from encroachment, says Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“The state government decided to set up the coastguard because of our large area of marine parks and long coastline.
