Fuel prices April 8-14: RON97 up 2 sen; RON95, diesel unchanged

PETALING JAYA: The price of RON97 petrol will increase by two sen from April 8 to April 14, says the Finance Ministry.

It said that the retail price for RON97 petrol will increase from RM2.52 to RM2.54 per litre.

The price of RON95 petrol and diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.

The ministry also said that to protect consumers from global oil price increases, the government would maintain its ceiling price of RON95 petrol at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, despite increases in market prices.

"The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday (April 7).

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was reintroduced on Jan 5,2019, under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).
