PETALING JAYA: The King has called on Malaysians to discharge their responsibility of protecting themselves through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
“I have full confidence that the efforts of both the Community Empowerment Programme and the National Immunisation Programme will allow us to rise together to build a more glorious future for our beloved nation, ” Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah said in a royal address in conjunction with the launch of the Community Empowerment Programme by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday.
His Majesty also urged the rakyat to continue their fight against the pandemic by upholding their responsibility of protecting the nation.
In his address, the King said the drastic rise in Covid-19 cases earlier this year was a wake up call.
“This situation brought about tough challenges for frontline personnel and the nation’s healthcare facilities.
“It also affected Malaysians, changing the way they lived their daily lives, ” the King added.
His Majesty said that it is the responsibility of the government and people to work together with the same devotion in fighting the pandemic.
In this respect, the King lauded the implementation of the Community Empowerment Programme by the government.
“Through the programme, all levels of the community and community leaders can contribute towards bringing down the number of Covid-19 cases while curbing the spread of infections, ” the King added.
The King also said the implementation of the Agent Basmi Covid-19 programme, or ABC-19, will allow various entities to work together to further empower the community.
