Govt doctor cheated of almost RM300,000 in phone scam


SEREMBAN: A doctor at a government hospital here has been cheated of almost RM290,000 in a phone scam.

State Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Supt Aibee Abd Ghani said the 25-year-old victim had received a call from a man claiming to be from the Inland Revenue Department on Feb 2 telling him he had RM38,000 in unpaid taxes.
