KOTA KINABALU: A resignation letter pre-signed by Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A Gani Pg Amir has been delivered to the state assembly office.

The letter was delivered by Parti Warisan Sabah secretary-general Datuk Loretto Padua at about 12.15pm on Tuesday (March 2).

This comes after Hassan defected from Warisan to support Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) on Thursday (Feb 25).

In a press conference on Monday (March 1), Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the party is thinking of taking legal action against Hassan for defecting because he had taken an oath to stay with the party if elected as an assemblyman, or resign from his post if he breached the vow.

Shafie said lawyers and witnesses were present when the letter was pre-signed and when Hassan took the oath in September.

Hassan could not be reached for comment while his last Facebook post was at 3.52pm on Monday (March 1).

In the post, he said the resignation letter was signed, and the oath taken, under duress and therefore not valid.
