Ismail Sabri: EMCO in two areas in Perak, Pahang to end tomorrow (Feb 24)

PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order in two localities in Perak and Pahang will be lifted on Wednesday (Feb 24), says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

The localities are Kampung Teluk in Setiawan, Perak, and Felda Triang 3, in Bera, Pahang.

The Defence Minister said that in the case of Kampung Teluk, health authorities had, to date, screened 131 individuals and 26 Covid-19 positive cases were detected.

“However, the Health Ministry has confirmed that there have been no positive cases reported since Feb 17. Following this, the government has agreed to end the enhanced MCO on Feb 24 as scheduled, ” he said on Tuesday (Feb 23).

On Felda Triang 3, which is under an enhanced MCO scheduled to end on March 3, health authorities said the situation at the locality is showing a downward trend and there are no swab test samples pending.

“Due to the positive situation, the government has agreed to end the enhanced MCO tomorrow, earlier than scheduled, ” said Ismail Sabri.
