PETALING JAYA: An Umno supreme council member has called on Tan Sri Annuar Musa to own up to his mistakes instead of constantly giving excuses for them.

Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi said those who cannot admit their mistakes often find an excuse for them and claimed it was exactly what the Ketereh MP did when he was caught sitting with six others at a table after an event on Saturday (Feb 13).

"The standard operating procedure only allows two people to a table. Annuar said he only sat with the group for a little while before heading off because the event organisers did not follow the standard operating procedure (SOP).

"If you know they weren't following SOP, why did you still sit with them? Where's the logic in that?" Puad asked in a Facebook post on Sunday (Feb 14).

It was later reported that the organiser of the event, Kelab Pencinta Alam Kolam Takungan Banjir Sungai Midah accepted the blame for the incident during Annuar's visit.

Puad recalled another time Annuar made an excuse for flouting the SOP when he was caught jogging with two others without masks.

He alleged that Annuar, who is also Federal Territories Minister, had made up an excuse that the three had stumbled upon each other while jogging and had come from different directions.

During the movement control order, only two members from the same household are allowed to jog together and must keep a 2m distance from others while doing so.
