Couple plead not guilty to human trafficking


KUALA LUMPUR: A couple claimed trial in four separate Sessions Courts here to charges of assault and human trafficking involving an Indonesian domestic helper.

Scrap metal trader Lim Tuan Ann, 42, and his wife Lim Siew Lan, 41, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out to them yesterday before judge Suzana Hussin.

Tuan Ann was charged with trafficking in the 26-year-old victim for the purpose of exploitation, an offence under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling Migrants Act 2007.
