MCA expels two members for breaking party rules

PETALING JAYA: Two MCA members have been expelled for breaching party rules, says MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon.

According to Chong, one of them ran in the Sabah state election last September under the banner of another political party, while the other joined rival PKR.

He said the decision to expel the member who ran in the Sabah polls was made at the MCA central committee meeting on Dec 29 last year, while the decision to expel the other member was made at the MCA presidential council meeting on Jan 7.

“Party members must strictly observe the party’s code of conduct, and exhibit a sense of unity and good virtues in order to uphold and positively project our party’s image, ” Chong said, reminding members that the central committee takes the issue of party discipline seriously.
