Another motorcyclist dies after hitting pothole


PETALING JAYA: Another motorcyclist died in a road accident after hitting a pothole on Monday (Jan 4).

The 1.15pm accident happened near Mutiara Damansara when a food delivery rider was at a traffic light junction along Jalan PJU 7/2.

"The 31-year-old rider hit a pothole on the road and lost control of his vehicle. He then fell at the left side of the road.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem will be conducted after the results of a Covid-19 test on the remains," Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said in a statement Monday.

A video on the incident has been making the rounds on Twitter as well.

In the video, other riders can be heard trying to help the unmoving motorcyclist by the side of the road.

On Sunday (Jan 3), a similar accident near Mid Valley which led to the death of a 75-year-old man.
