PETALING JAYA: The MCA’s headquarters in Jalan Ampang is undergoing sanitisation after Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong tested positive for Covid-19.
Chong is currently self-isolating at home.
MCA said upon receiving news that Chong tested positive, it had immediately shut the office of the Public Services and Complaints Department located on the seventh floor of Wisma MCA for thorough sanitisation to be conducted.
“MCA headquarters also immediately arranged for all staff in the said department to undergo Covid-19 tests.
“The management of Wisma MCA has carried out sanitisation work for the entire building, ” it said in a statement yesterday.
According to Chong, he got tested after several of his friends who attended a gathering with him on Dec 26 experienced symptoms related to Covid-19.
“I was told to be in isolation and if there are any symptoms, only then will I be hospitalised, ” he told The Star yesterday.
