Enhanced MCO at Penang's Desa Bistari ends on Dec 26

PETALING JAYA: The enhanced MCO at the Desa Bistari flat in Penang ends on Saturday (Dec 26).

"The government had previously extended the enhanced MCO at the Desa Bistari flat at Batu Uban, Timur Laut in Penang until Dec 31.

"However the Health Ministry has tested all in that locality and no samples are pending.

"The Health Ministry also confirmed that the remaining positive cases within the locality are under control," said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in his daily Covid-19 statement on Saturday.

On Ops Benteng, he said 35 undocumented immigrants were arrested on Dec 25.

A total of 49,603 compliance inspections were also conducted, following which 854 people were issued compounds for not complying with the MCO.

Another 148 people were remanded by the police.
