More vaccine on the cards


TANGKAK: Plans are being made by the government to increase the purchase of Covid-19 vaccine from 30% to between 60% and 70% to meet the immunisation needs of the people in facing the pandemic, says the Prime Minister. Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said many countries were buying the vaccines and some even bought the amount that exceeded their own population.

“As for Malaysia, we have already got 30%. I have instructed Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba along with Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar (Science, Technology and Innovation Minister) to negotiate and increase it from 30% to 60% or 70%, ” he said in his speech during the Gambir Deepavali celebrations here yesterday.
