PETALING JAYA: Parents welcome the additional allocation in Budget 2021 for the maintenance of schools. The aggregation in the allocation is also fairer, they said.
A parent who only wanted to be known as Mike said it was good that they are looking into the maintenance of schools as it is the enabler for teaching and learning to take place.
“The aggregation is more flexible, fair and dynamic. A well-maintained school will have more space for the benefit of the students, ” said the parent of a Year One pupil.
Rodney Teoh, who has children in Forms One and Two, said the allocation will create a “much needed” conducive environment for all students.
He described the aggregation as a “well-thought out plan” but called for distribution to be done by a third party for transparency.
“Providing RM30mil allocation for critical maintenance is a brilliant move but I hope the money will be channelled fairly, ” he said.
